Men’s & Ladies Doubles Tournament

Men’s & Ladies Doubles Tournament:

Sunday 22nd September 2024

We had one of the best turnouts for the men’s and ladies Doubles Tournament this year. 15 men’s and 5 ladies pairs turned out on a day when the rain presented another challenge for all our members for most of the day.

However, rain did not stop play and the enthusiasm and level of competition was as high and intense as ever.  The players played a mix of knockout and round robin formats and all had the opportunity to play at least 4 matches before the semi-final and final stages of the tournament.  As with any club, there is a wide range of abilities, but opportunities for competition have improved in the last two years with the introduction of singles and doubles ladders and it’s fantastic to see the increase in competition within our club.

We also now have 4 men’s and 2 ladies teams playing league tennis.

Thanks to the families and friends who came to support the players and enjoy the sociable atmosphere which is a key feature of our club, enhanced by chip butties and the bar being open.

The players definitely appreciated and enjoyed the support.
