British Heart Foundation Charity Event
About the Event
We held a charity afternoon tea on Easter Saturday 4th April 26. It was decided that the charity we would support this time would be be the British Heart Foundation
. We thought this was apt as two of our members had heart attacks last year whilst playing tennis. We had 44 attending this event, so it was very well attended.
Special Thank You
I would like to thank all the cake bakers who delighted us with their culinary skills. Also a massive thanks to all the helpers on the day, whether in the kitchen, behind the bar or selling raffle tickets. We had a lot of positive remarks on the day. Thanks as well for the donations for the raffle prizes & books. We made a fantastic profit of £539.12 & therefore will be donating £250 to the British Heart Foundation. They inform me that a certificate will be given to us which will be displayed in the board. It was a fabulous day & nice to see some new faces. Thanks again for all the volunteers who helped on the day.
Easter Activity Session
About the Event
During easter we also held an Easter Activity Session for the first time on 28/3. After consulting with Jonno it was decided to offer this for his first two groups on the Saturday morning sessions. We only had 5 up to the day but once the youngsters saw what was happening 4 more asked if they could join in.
It was a great success & all the children loved being creative with their basket/hat & easter card making. All the children thanked me & they were all very polite & a pleasure to work with. It was a family affair with volunteers as my daughter, granddaughter & Pete helped on the day.
