Team Tennis

Priory enters teams into the North East Cheshire Tennis League (NECTL) and the Manchester and District Tennis League (MADTL).

In the summer season we enter 3 Mens’ and 2 Ladies’ teams into NECTL and 1 mens’ team into MADTL. The ladies’ and mens’ teams in NECTL both consist of 6 players per team and a season consists of approximately 10-12 matches with home and away fixtures. All matches are doubles matches, consisting of a 2 set match against pairs of the same ranking, followed by two further one-set matches against the remaining two pairings. This format provides a total of 4 sets of tennis for each player, making it a great opportunity for playing competitive tennis.

The 1 mens’ team in MADTL consists of 6 players (3 pairs). Each pair plays 1 set against each opposing pair. The set consists of the 1st pair to win 8 games.

In Winter we currently have 2 mixed teams in the North East Cheshire winter league. The format for matches is slightly different. Each team consists of 2 men and 2 ladies and a match will consist of each player playing 2 sets of ladies’/mens’ doubles and 2 sets of mixed doubles.

We also enter junior teams into the junior section of NECTL in 14U, 16U and 18U age categories. The juniors are selected through the coaching programmes with our coaching team.
